Krishna Agri College Launches Tree Plantation Drive and Honors Local Farmers

The Krishna family has launched a major environmental conservation initiative, beginning with a massive tree plantation drive and a Vrikshadindi (tree procession) at the Jaywantrao Bhosale Krishna College of Agriculture. The event marked Maharashtra Agriculture Day and the birth anniversary of the late Vasantrao Naik.

​Hon. Dr. Suresh Bhosle, Chairman of the Yashwantrao Mohite Krishna Cooperative Sugar Factory, urged citizens to take personal responsibility for the environment. "Deforestation and rising greenhouse gases have severely disrupted our climate. Planting trees is now an urgent necessity," he stated. Dr. Bhosale was also felicitated at the event in honor of National Doctors' Day.

​The programme focused heavily on the future of farming, with Managing Director Bajirao Sutar and Principal Dr. Ashok Pharande emphasizing the importance of modern technology, micro-planning, and the growing career opportunities for youth in agriculture.

​To encourage sustainable farming practices, five progressive local farmers were formally honored: Sanket More, Raghunath Khambe, Pradeep Nangare, Sanjay Thorat, and Ramchandra Kakade. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Sarang Kumbhar
