Students undergo various courses under this department.
They study the soil and water conservation practice with in depth knowledge of farming practices, soil conservation structures, temporary and permanent erosion control measures. Farm ponds construction, type and it's capacity calculations. Also students are made acquainted with methods for determining area and level of plots. After studying Renewable energy students can utilize natural resources for agriculture purpose such as wind energy, solar still, solar pumping, gasifier for industrial use, Bio-CNG and biofuels for agriculture.
In precision farming practices the most valuable resource person is provided by this department as the department undergoes study of improved farming equipment, machines and motors. Students come to know about the use of proper machines, equipment and process adopted for conducting any agricultural work. Department also works on protected cultivation which explores knowledge about site selection, structure selection, crop and automations in protected cultivation.
As a part of secondary agriculture they are introduced to biological properties of grains vegetables and fruits so that they are able to utilize proper technique of dryer, drying time exposure, cleaners, sorter, grader and other food processing machines. Irrigation water resources requirements and new technologies of precise water application like drip, sprinkler, boom irrigation water technique of water to be used in seedlings and protected cultivation are under gone by the department. Also department provides knowledge about entrepreneurship and how to be a good entrepreneur with exposure to Agriculture Entrepreneurs in the vicinity of college and Hands on Training during practical.
