About section
Agriculture Botany section involve scientific study of crops including their physiology, structure, genetics,ecology, distribution,classification & economic importance. It help for farming using the science of botany. Hydroponics is another area of interest to agricultural botanists.Agriculture Botany section is actively engaged in undergraduate teaching in addition to this staff from this section also visiting problematic fields, writhing popular articles in newspaper &magazine.
About Laboratory
Agricultural botany lab is well equipped for undergraduate students to perform various botanical practicals which are necessary for the study of the structure, properties, and biochemical processes of all forms of plant life. lab is spacious provides specimens,microscopes,permanent slides, latest method of physiological experiment. The lab activity also involves the field trips to study the flora related to agriculturally and economically important plants in the surrounding region. The field trips are really exciting experience for the students and they learn a lot about the subject matter. The lab is well equipped with instruments like microscope ( compound Dissecting),Seed germinator, Arc-auxanometer.
About Teaching
Agricultural Botany section is provided with three Assistant professor & one lab in-charge. The section use to offer nine core course & two part of experiential learning courses as per the revised syllabus in two semester every year.
Farm Activity
Every year we have been conducting seed production programme through ELP module to provide good seeds to the farmers in the field given to us till date we have provided seeds of various varieties of wheat, rice, & Soybean to the farmers.Tissue culture laboratory Agriculture Botany also includes tissue culture lab with various spaces for washing, drying & storing of equipment. Above this the well qualified lab facility advantage for the students.
